Artists rarely have the opportunity to speak the language of diplomacy. But this week, a graphic work by Eliezer (Albert-Leizer) Feldman, head of the Israeli Medical Mission, became just such a message.
On July 15 in Kyiv, Chief Rabbi of Ukraine Moshe Reuven Asman presented it to the US President’s Special Representative for Ukraine, General Keith Kellogg, as a gift for Donald Trump.
The canvas depicts a portrait of the 45th and 47th US presidents against the backdrop of a vintage Declaration of Independence. It is a symbolic gesture, reminding us that America was built on the principles of freedom and equality for which it fought, and that Ukraine is now following the same path.
This painting is not just a gift, but a message that should resonate in the hearts of everyone who values freedom and dignity.
